Last year I bought a pair of John Doe jeans, which are very comfortable, however I bought them with the Billy basic armour. I’m not regretting that and would like some better armour. What should I be buying and where from. thanks
I find the Rheon armour from Roadskins, https://roadskin.co.uk/collections/motorcycle-armour, very comfortable. I have the ‘flat’ armour which moulds to the shape of your knee pretty quickly. Andy
I found the std. John Doe armour particularly uncomfortable. Have changed it for D3O std, not the Ghost. The main issue is getting it to locate securely in the pockets, considering resorting to needle and thread to sort that out. The John Doe Velcro mounting is part of the discomfort problem, that and the way that the stiffer provided armour, along with it's texture, irritates my knees over more than a day's use. The jeans are otherwise good.
D3o, amazing stuff. It’s soft until you hit it, then instantly it’s hard. Wish I’d been wearing it when I came off my e-bike recently. Instead I had all the protection that Lycra can give you.
This is what the John Doe jeans came with, it just feels thin. My gut says it needs upgrading but I just don’t know.
