Hi All. I for love nor money get the battery cover off, undo the 2 front bolts, then it hinges open, but I cannot get it off, I have tried everything, any suggestions. Bike is a 2025 890 V2S Multi. Thanks.
Just this week, I had a tech access the battery for a Scottoiler lead and found the factory or dealer had used red Loctite, the toughest thread locker, on the battery cover. Took them a while to get cover off. Why would it be thread locked? Beats me. Same bike, 2025 V2s Multistrada.
I'm looking to connect my sat nav to the battery . How does the front tank cover come off? does it just pull off ? . Theres nothing in the manual on how to remove it . It just says "Remove front tank cover" then undo two bolts to remove cover to access the battery . I don't fancy breaking an expensive piece of black plastic! Thanks .
All sorted now. It just pulls, pushes off. Undo the two battery cover bolts to hinge up the cover and wiggle/pull it out . Nav connected up , just need to try it out to see if the position is ok
Thanks for the photos!! I was fiddling with that damn cover all afternoon! I was able to flip the cover up but cannot get it to come off, do you have any tips? Were you able to get it back on after?
Hi, I just kept pulling and wiggling and it came out. It had two plastic flat tabs that are in pushed into two rubber slots . I gave the slots a squirt of silicone spray and they pushed right back in .
Thank you - I am going to give her a go, wish me Side question, I got me a Novatech mount that goes into the factory windshield mechanism slot, is that similar to how you mounted your Navi? Curious how you fed the cable down, were you able to route it behind the TFT display somehow? Thanks a million!
THANK YOU!!!! really helpful diagram and pictures! Though TBH, looking at the complexity... I can just envision a pile of parts on the garage floor after and now am thinking just paying someone to do this for me...
