Hi all - as above - bike is only running on the horizontal cylinder. Was out at the weekend & it was fine for the first 30 miles, then started to ‘bog down’ - fuelled up & it was still almost unrideable. Must’ve started & stopped it at least 20 times, with it still running on one, then all of a sudden it cleared & was fine again. All 4 plugs and plug leads are 4 months old, OEM from Ducati (which cured a previous misfire, thanks to @nelly ’s advice ). Cheap OBD scanner shows a P2A0D code. I’ve swapped coils around & the misfire doesn’t move, so I’m thinking map sensor or injector, unless anyone’s got any different ideas? (I’m part-ex’ing it next week for a newer one, but need to safely be able to ride it an hour away ) Any advice gratefully received
My money is on a faulty lambda/O2 sensor in the vertical cylinder exhaust, but without more detailed and accurate diagnostics we’re all just guessing. If it is it’s either replace or fit an O2 sensor delete kit, neither of which are cheap or quick plus that sensor is a PITA to get access to extract it. I think it may be better to explain the situation to the dealer taking it in part-ex and get the bike collected.
Thanks for taking the time to reply Paul, much appreciated - I’ve replaced the vertical MAP sensor, cleared the codes, started it 3 times & they haven’t returned & it ‘seems’ to be running ok - at this point I have everything crossed ahead of a test ride (which’ll be in a couple of days time - will update the thread once that’s done, and failing that, I’ll likely do as you suggest & hope I don’t get too much knocked off the p/x value…
Not sure if it's the same on a multi but on the panigale the rear map sensor does the front cylinder and vice versa
