  1. Thanks for the input
Tyres are ok/good pressures correct, rides nicely apart from steps, ruts at speed, have reduced compression damping both ends will give that a try, if no change will try 1/2 a turn on preload, sag is about right

  2. Bike is better (for me) with one click compression less front and rear, have reduced preload 1/2 a turn front and back
    Screen off no more buffeting
Termi on the way, mapping bookedHsve done few more miles on it now getting the hang of it, it’s nice and torquey over 3500, I love the riding position, going to adjust gear lever slightly, looking for one I can shorten, it’s about 3/4”” too long for me
    Liking the Ducati experience

  3. Top banana!

  4. Had a little bit of experience with mapping in cars but not bikes; is it quite common and what can be best achieved?

  5. I have some experience mapping cars (petrol), this (Ducati) feels like the timing is retarded to me, just nothing there below 3000, runs rough below 3000 too. They (manufacturers) do this to reduce NOx emissions
Time will tell, I am expecting (hoping for) a bike that’s much more pleasant to ride, more tractable at low revs with at least some useable torque below 3000

  6. Interesting because I have been getting more advice about changing the front Sprocket?

  7. I have seen this suggested too
I am new to Ducati’s, so can’t really offer a relevant opinion
A few people told me that the engines responsiveness got progressively worse as the emission restrictions become “harsher”
When I first rode my bike, I was honestly “shocked” at how little torque the engine produces at low rpm
Clearly cam timing is a factor, but imho a modern vvt fuel injected engine should produce far more low down torque than my bike does
In little more than a month I will know for sure

  8. Hadn’t read manual‍‍ :(
    Been playing with suspension
Thought I had reduced rear compression damping, only I hadn’t (non adjustable) I had reduced rebound
Reduced preload front and back 1/2 turnreduced front compression 1/2 turn
Felt better up until I hit a pothole and forks bottomed out, have increased compression damping
Only done 250mls on it will see how it goes for a while
Made slight adjustment to gear lever position feels more “natural” now, will keep an eye out for one as I think 3/4” shorter would be good
    Termi arrived mapping booked
It’s surprisingly (to me) rapid 4000 rpm and up, brain hasn’t yet caught up with bike

  9. Changing the final drive gearing is for "what suits you sir". Top end speed versus bottom end acceleration. Cruising speed will be higher revs. If you lower it. That will not eliminate loosing the front end on potholes.

  10. Update
    Screen back on, tweaked angle
Suspension a lot better, getting the hang of cornering, getting really good mpg high 50’s, probably not giving it enough beans :)

  12. Thank you hopefully the learning curve is starting to tail off slightly
