New to me. Silver. Issues are, clocks are crazed, should be a picture attached. The immobiliser sometimes doesn’t switch off when the key goes in and I try and switch the bike on. Roll on the summer.
Greetings! Sorting the clocks is not so easy. I seem to remember they are coded to the bike to ensure the mileage is correct. I think the fuel light is a failed component inside the tank. Someone far more skilled in these things will be along soon to advise. I have one of these and its a great bike.
Thanks, I am looking around for a new fascia for the clocks, just want to ride it first, but it will make my teeth itch. From early investigations it seems the fuel sender is the same as the one on my 900ss. The immobiliser issue might be potato fingers/ham fistedness.

I have already been told that a 916 shock and linkage bolts straight into the bike. I just plan on riding it and enjoying it.
I have a 2002 750ie with a couple of the same issues. The fuel light on mine is on most of the time as the sender unit has an intermittent issue. I just ignore it and zero the trip meter every time I fill up. I will fix it some day but it doesn’t bother me too much at the moment. The immobiliser issue you mention happened to me once and was resolved by removing the relay on the gear change side of the battery, cleaning the contacts and plugging it back in again
Thanks, I will have a look at the relay. I will, in slower time, go through it, cleaning and greasing terminals/pivots/etc.
I had to do some running around today so took the monster. I definitely need different bars, it has Renthals at the moment. Suspension needs setting up. I also think I might see if I can find a pair of cans for it. The original Remus badged ones are quiet.
The Ducati Performance made by Remus exhaust on my 750 sound amazing although I’m slightly surprised that they get through the MOT every year. Still - earplugs are cheap.
I don’t want offensively loud, but it’s sewing machine quiet. New bars first. Then run the tank dry and try and fix the low fuel warning issue. Then the clock faces
As far as I'm aware there is no fail for noisy exhausts, certainly not any of my 'loud' bikes have failed because of it.
I don't think it will happen tomorrow, but exhaust sound/ decibel limits are not far off. TBH if they were enacted tomorrow nothing would happen -apart from Akra & co going bust. The general public accept 20 mph road restrictions across half of London and Wales, speed cams everywhere which don't save lives but do bring in massive revenue, ULEZ restrictions over huge swathes of the country and congestion charges too. The average punter just sighs, buys another cup of £6 coffee, and carries on reading their 'phone...
Perhaps the exhaust system will come under a decibel test, it wouldn't be difficult. I'm not certain that the 20mph are so widely accepted in certain parts of Wales. Aren't the Welsh government allowing local authorities to decide as opposed to the blanket imposition a few ago. There is so much more to concentrate on in London inadvertently entering a bus lane, a box junction avoiding pedestrians, skaters, cyclists, ebikers, scooters, motorcycles and taxis. 20mph is possibly a better limit than 30, perhaps your experience differs though?
It will be simple to implement decibel testing so I think its likely to happen. Maybe only on new bikes? We will see. Plaid are pro 20 mph restrictions. AFAIK Cardiff -maybe Wrexham- reverted to 30mph but mostly the restriction stands. I can't see it changing now after more than a year. In London since the 20 mph was instigated, there has been a reduction of 120 people injured out of a population -including tourists- of 12 million. Is it worth the traffic jams?
There was traffic congestion before the 20mph, when was the last time you experienced driving in and around London?
