I am trying to fit an RCS 17 master cylinder to my 916 but it fouls the clocks way before the steering is on full left lock. Has anybody else done this and how do you overcome it? I am only trying this as my current master cylinder is shot and not sure i trust a second hand one but a mate has lent me a new RCS to try.
I have the same problem. I have an RCS 19 Brembo MC. No matter what angle I set it at or how far down the bar I go, it syill hits the tacho. I have learned to live with it. Just make sure you don't put too much pressure on the bar. It's not ever a problem at anything above walking pace
Thanks Martin. Reassuring to know that i am not doing something wrong. I think i have found a new standard replacement so might go down that route as my OCD struggles with compromise
Yea. Probably the way forward they are readily available and only a couple of hundred quid! 69926071A
You can adjust the steering stop, but it will mean the steering lock only works on full right hand lock
Probably not the answer the OP's looking for but I have a Brembo radial M/C on mine which fits fine but, I also have (Cyclecat) adjustable bars which, along with being adjustable for height and angle are, more importantly longer. IMHO the extra length is a bigger advantage than the height/angle (which you can't adjust much anyway or the bars hit the fairing) as having your arms further apart gives you better control, is much more comfortable and, being that bit longer gives more room for the master cylinder.
Yes. Managed to find one from Italy and even with the relevant duties is still cheaper than i have found here in the UK
Except it looks like @Paul55 ’s bike has the RH switchgear moved to LH as I believe it may be a trackbike? EDIT: oops, I think I got that wrong!
