Heartbreaking to read that. I hope we can all give something to try and help her. It can be a very cruel sport at times.

Perhaps this isnt the best time for me to say this......... but i will anyhow but i do struggle with giving to things like this over things that you could argue have been not done by choice .
Of course this incident wasnt but i feel it easier to give what i have spare to people that have fallen ill and similar .
Perhaps thats just me.
But i do of course wish her the absolute very best and also to the other riders who have come off this and other years.

 

One could argue that folk who "fall ill" may have made the wrong lifestyle choices in the past e.g. poor diet etc.
Maria is where she is. You can't change the past. She is going to need a lot of help, it's your choice whether to donate or not.

 

2/3 races cancelled today. Fingers crossed for everyone the supersport race goes ahead at 3pm.

You can say whatever you like , it’s a free world to make your own choices and have opinions.
I don’t give to charities . I still help people though in different ways.
I understand that racers are doing what they love, feel the buzz and know the risks. Without them taking these risks there is no spectacle for us to admire. Contributing to Maria’s future even in a small way is me giving something back.
There is no right and no wrong in this , just a personal choice.
