After Spain, that’s me done with the South-West and Apple. I’ll give the phone to a daughter, They all have iPhones. I will go to my last phone. I may even treat myself to a new Google phone. At the moment, I may be on WiFi or may not be. Nobody knows.
Not sure whether you’ve sorted your railcard, or not, but you may be interested in this: https://www.renfe.com/es/en/travel/prepare-your-trip/descuentos/mayores-de-60
Thanks. That's not very far from where I am now. Trouble is that I have not got a specific problem, just a crap phone. I'll spend a bit more time with it. The WiFi on the two trains that I took today may of been the main problem - and the phone doesn't cope with it. The maps function was hopeless and always put me on the M5. Now I am on an Android tablet on the hotel WiFi and all is good. it I can't bear to try the Apple now as it annoys me. I did find the thing that claims to save login details, but gets it wrong and turned it off. Tomorrow I might go somewhere on the train. Depends on weather. It's awful here at the moment. An Apple free day is tempting.
Perry do yourself a favor. Go and see the really nice people at the Apple store. Pull out your shiny new 'phone and tell them about the login in hassels. Those kids are trained to fix it for you, thats why they are there.
Tomorrow is light rain ️ and today is heavy heavy rain ☔. I'll wait and see for myself. I am in a bit of a quandary about coming here to Plymouth. I hate the train journey here and CrossShiteCountry but I really like Plymouth and using it to travel to Spain. I think that I must move onto a higher plane. I must not let trivial things bother me. I could of been more patient and waited for a GWR train at Taunton This phone thing is again trivial. Everybody I have spoken to today about it had to visit an Apple store to get their phone to work. Maybe it's an age thing. And the phone may of suffered from crappy WiFi on the train. I'll try it again tomorrow where it will have good WiFi or none at all. .
OK, I have calmed down now. I'm cutting off my nose to spite my face. I really like coming to.Plymouth aand going from Plymouth to Spain. This hotel is really good and the German warships circling is just plain funny. For the sake of a few shitty hours on the train, I just have to suck it up. The iPhone is still crap compared to a good Android phone - for me, who has their life in Google stuff. For me, that's just how it is and I am not changing. For somebody else, who's done the same with Apple then they might be the same way with Apple . It's just not worth arguing about. At the end of the day, I am in a good place. Nice day today doing nothing much and leave for Spain tomorrow, with the ferry ⛴️ terminal just a short way away. If my rucksack wasn't so heavy and I didn't have a knackered leg, I could walk it's to the ferry terminal.
If u want to sell it when you get back let me know, the battery in mine is dying a slow and painful death and I was looking at one of these just don’t want to enter into another credit agreement/contract with o2.
Get yourself down to gt motorcycles. Have a look at Steve’s race bike collection. Google, chrome and gmail apps are available on iPhone. Trains are ok it can be a pain driving down some times. Why don’t you do a review of the national express service. I’d love to read your opinions on that.
I’m going to persevere with this iPhone. Mainly because it’s light and thin, I’ll just lower my expectations. I’ve got my Android tablet with me and that’s got everything. My main bank is Lloyds and their app I got working. The phone allows me access to this forum when the wind blows from the north west, I can message but I got emailed something to Docusign but couldn’t see what I was supposed to do, I’ll do it later on my tablet. The most important thing I I have learnt is that I will never try to move my life to Apple {it took three tries to do a capital A just then) as I would need to spend thousands for no benefit. Really I would like my main mumber on this eSIM and a normal SIM, but that’s not possible I will go to Spain (leaving tomorrow) and review the situation when I get back. in fairness, no problems with WiFi since I’ve been here since. It was basted CrossCuntry and their wanky WiFi.
I have an I pad and I phone, I’m knocking on a bit now and struggle with the Tech. What really gets me is, I just get used to the current interface, then regular as clockwork along comes yet another update and it’s like using a different phone. I’m about at my wits end with it. Actions that just took one press now take two or three processes. Then there is all the hidden swipes that I can’t get along with. It will be my last apple purchase I would think. Had them over 15 years, but just too complicated for me now.
In the interests of making my life simpler and easier, I’ve decided wfat to do. when I am back, I will keep this phone on this number. I will put the SIM of my other number. In my old Android phone, with the bigger screen. The old phone will be used in my car for navigation and on my bike with Beeline, That will suit me. Off to Spain now,BYE!!!
Load of shite, Wi-Fi on CrossCountry is markedly worse than my Android phone. Not that it's brilliant with anything. The trouble with the English system is that Conservatives meddled with it. You pay the same fare with every operator and no accurate statistics are kept on quality. On top of which most of the profits go abroad to subsidise the tail networks of other countries. French railways have a stake in GWR.
