Dont let the door hit your big fat tongue on the way out m8 F1 Q&A: Verstappen's future, five-week break, how will Mercedes deal with Antonelli & Russell? - BBC Sport
F1 will be even more rubbish without Max. Definitely best driver on the grid with a salty personality to add to the drama. The new F1 configuration is wank. Go very fast, go very slow… absolutely rubbish. So who’s got the battery boost sussed? It’s not what F1 is about. F1 is supposed to be flat out racing.
You’ve not watched any / understood F1 since, well, since it started then? Or in fact any form of motor racing from karting and minibikes upwards? I am not saying they have the rules, or the balance of limitations right this year, because clearly they don’t, but F1 has NEVER been about flat out racing. Limits - natural from our engineering limits and mastery of the physical world, or, increasingly, imposed by the “Formula” part of F1 have always made the lap time of each lap in a race a compromise, and even in quali, truly 100% push over a lap is not realistic. The limit of tyres, fuel, parc-ferme rules, replacement parts, budget, no second car, etc. etc. all affect how hard the driver can really push. Rule 1. To finish first, first you have to finish.
Antonelli at the vr46 ranch https://m.gpone.com/en/2026/04/07/motogp/easter-with-a-twist-kimi-antonelli-also-at-ranch.html
Kimi Antonelli makes it 3 in a row. Norris did well, Piastri too -Macca have improved their car a lot. Max back with a bang, Ferrari still not quite there imo.
Clearly not his biggest fan but I do admire/love riders/drivers who attempt cross classes, as I’m sure we all do. https://www.crash.net/f1/news/10949...n-ended-first-qualifying-nurburgring-24-hours
Russell unlucky to DNF whilst his team mate wins again, with a familiar bloke in red second! Max third.
It was definitely interesting. I was supposed to be asleep at 20.00 but had to watch it all. Other than Antonelli a bit of a fake podium with the McLarens going all Ferrari with strategy and GR’s engine failure. All getting a bit closer though, which is great!
On comms earlier they said the last time the lead changed between drivers at Monaco mid race (ie not the start or pit stops etc) was 1985.
The average across the last 10 years is 4 on track overtakes. But thats probably down to Stroll being lapped!
