So what have you done today..?

  1. Sat in the Supersonic Shed with the hound.

I’m on a campsite in Wiltshire at a TRF weekend meet up and because I have Iggy with me and I don’t fancy another unscheduled environmental event* I can only ride half days. Hence, I asked to be put in a group which it would be possible to meet up with at lunchtime. Error. That landed me in a group which is (a) named “Slow and Relaxing”, (b) mostly adventure bikes, (c) doing a mostly tarmac route, though apparently there’s a bit of gravel and, weather permitting, a bit of grass. Borrrrrrrrrriiiiiinnnnggggg! The lunchtime stop is also 40 mins of NSL dual carriageway riding away.

I took the bike off the trailer and was half-heartedly putting my kit on when the heavens opened and gave me the excuse I needed to get back in the van and put (a) my slippers, and (b) the kettle, on.

    There’s always tomorrow….

  4. So dry and sunny in Surrey today then?

  5. Went out for our normal Saturday game against my better judgment as the weather didn’t look great. One of our number (for those who remember the Carlsberg advert from the Antarctic, we believe he’s related to the bloke that looks out of the tent and says it’s brightening up) assured us it was only for an hour before it improved. Two hours later we walked off the 9th somewhat soggy. Currently on the sofa with the bike dryer inserting it into every pocket on the golf bag to get it dry in time to get soaked again on Monday. God, I love the British Summer.

  10. Shame they messed up the egg

  11. Went to help a friend change the front shocks and drop links on his wife's fiat panda, one bolt rounded off so once we found some suitable replacements I got a little primitive with the angle grinder and a hammer.

Not too primitive, I did shield the rubber CV boot with tinfoil.

All fixed and driving better now.

  14. I've been after a medium replacement van since i sold mine four odd weeks ago. I'd find one in Wokingham that fitted the bill but checked the MOT's before i made my move & found that the first MOT said 66,000 but he was selling his at 44,000, that's a real f@@k up by the MOT station on the numbers or "other".

  19. Picked another dessert bowl full of Raspberries and Redcurrents.
The weather with lots of rain and spells of sunshine has sent our fruit cage mad.

This is the haul since I last cleared it on Friday morning:

The cage I built a few years ago is only 10' x 6' up in one corner of the end of the garden, but is so productive for a couple of months each year we put loads in the freezer for over winter alongside the many Blackberries we pick locally.

The Redcurrents are just beginning to ripen really, along with the Blackcurrents, but it looks like we're going to have Raspberries for weeks yet.
Then, hopefully it will be the turn of the Runner Beans, Peas, Spuds, and Onions.
