Unfortunately the bottom line is...if it's cheap for what it is...it will sell.

 

Steve has already done and tried this by the looks of it. That's not what he's asking. He wants advice trying to sell it, not help making a for sale ad

@steve 748r you're only going to get the same advice you got last time about the price being too high i think.
If it really needs going asap and needs a service and what not then a lower price than what you originally had it up for will be the only way

 

Ebay auction with a reserve? If it doesn't reach the reserve then you would at least see how the market values it.

My brother has looked at quite a few recently both private and dealers and some are asking silly money.
I know a slab side mint bike is worth more but £14k ish !
As already said a bike that has stood for years is going to need a good whack spent on it so it needs to be £3k cheaper than a fully sorted bike to allow for any hidden extras, which it more than likely will need.
Mk1 Showa models which have had services, belts etc can be had for £8k or thereabouts and they too probably need a bit spending on them.

I know some have said get it recommissioned yourself but I don’t think that will help in your case as you are going to have to fork out a fortune, put your price up to reflect that and it still might not sell so you are worse off.

I personally considering your situation ( been there ) would price it to sell and get out of it.

 

You could try Car & Classic with a free ad but a classified on evilbay will get a lot more viewings.
Like others I think it is way overpriced for a Generation 1 R and in my view in the current market is closer to 1/2 your original price.
But GLWS anyway, having owned two slab side R's they are a superb ride.

Accepting a form of asset in return is a good start, currency is the norm
