There cant be many of them left!! Even bog standard 899's are becoming few and far between (or seem to be).
i think youre right... many of them sold before the series ended in 2022 so they are now either dead or in use
An 899 tri option bike is now highly likely to be knackered by now. Surely a better idea is a standard 959 or V2 that you can fettle to exactly how you want it as your skill level rises?
100% agree, the only engine change was that they were allowed updated conrods, which the 959 didn’t need as they were stronger. A used 959 is a better buy as the tri-options bikes were ridden hard and are very old now

959 Corse with Ohlins. Perfect and good price too. https://ebay.io/m/jdjci9 The shock is the weak point on the standard bike. Still fine for inters but will be found out at fast group pace. Forks (showa BPF) are good all the way to fast group. Can’t comment on corse version as not ridden one but it’s the one to buy imho
