  3. Musk doesn't 'have' a trillion dollars but he does have ownership of stakes/shares in companys that are worth a trillion dollars.

Who's value would plummet if he did try to sell them.

However that doesn't stop him from being a c@nt for any other reason.

  4. It's beyond obscene. Such inequality will lead to revolution eventually.

  5. You've changed your tune. A year ago you and your fellow travellers were rejoicing in fantasies about Musk's imminent insolvency :joy:

  6. When though ?

  9. It won't, because most normal people don't devote much headspace to such issues. It's a fairly niche obsession indulged in by people who need billionaires to act as a convenient scapegoats for western societies' ills, as that stops people looking too closely at the real causes of the preconditions for revolution.

  10. This is something I think about quite often at work.

A big part of the business is designing and manufacturing electromechanical and pure electronic systems that go in first class, super first class, and private suites on commercial airliners.
I really have to stiffle my moral objections at times because we are building gear that passengers are paying £40k, yes £40k, for a return ticket from Heathrow to various places in the middle east.

We also supply for private jets who's owners fly in and pay Heathrow £100k a day to park.

I see the struggles of others, even some of our own staff, and think it's immoral.

  11. But then if they didn't do this you wouldn't have your job as the systems wouldn't be required or necessary, swings and roundabouts.

  16. Playing devils advocate for a moment....
I have no opinion of the guy one way or the other, for all any of us know he may fund any number of programs to aid less fortunate peoples.
I remember when the great Satan was an earlier Tech billionaire, Bill Gates. The same complaints about his obscene wealth melted away when it became obvious that he was giving it all away in an effort to end just the same issues mentioned here.

  17. I think he'd be the first to tell you if he was being benevolent in any way, shape or form. I believe his own daughter has said publicly the kind of person he is.

  18. A quick Google search would suggest that he doesn’t give that much away and a lot of what is given away goes to operations controlled by… Elon Musk.
