Seems like a no-brainer. couldnt get on with a xumo xt after years of tom tom use. @Muppet showed me his beeline and it looks perfect anyone mounted one onto their 999?
i bought the beeline 2 a few months ago and use it on my 1200r monster with my old iPhone to run the app. very pleased so far, I'm off to spain in 3 weeks so ill see how it goes over there
excellent im off to wdw soon and would have liked it over the weekend question is - how to mount on a 999? id rather not stick it on the top yoke which seems the easiest option ideally a cranked mount off the ignition barrel but the evotech mount isnt cranked
I have Beeline MK2 and i cannot recommend it highly enough , very compact and informative bit of kit, and you should be able to fit it somewhere on the 999 top yoke or bars, it comes with a flexible extremely strong rubber band mounting kit.
How good are your Heath Robinson skills ? As the unit is light weight, you should be able to use a second front brake reservoir aluminium mount, doubled up off the master cylinder. Andy
I’ve bought one to use on my 1098. As mentioned above it comes with rubber bands which were certainly up to the job of mounting on that yoke. Only used it once but really like it so far
I made a mount that is fixed to the end of a clip-on (here with a cheap phone mount in place - my Beeline-2 mounts on it perfectly too) - it's the same diameter as standard bars. Is there anywhere on your top yoke or clip-on that you could use to mount something similar?
A great bit of kit ,i got mine in a deal which included a free mount which i have found very easy to mount on my 1100 multi ,the mounts are usually about £29 ,but they are very well made and very versatile .
Have a good read of the instructions (good website), as there are a few things that aren't immediately obvious...
I’ve recently upgraded from a Beeline mk1 to a mk2. I’ve had a mk1 for about 5 years, and really liked it. But the mk2 is much easier to use when the directions get trickier. I used to recommend the mk1 if the requirement was a non-intrusive satnav solution (I personally hate having a big screen or phone on the bars) but I’d recommend the mk2 wholeheartedly.
I plan to try a Beeline on my Goldie. Looks like it would work for me. I go out and wander around. Then I just want the way home avoiding Motorways ️. I cannot see a flaw in the UK. I can in Spain though. For some obscure reason, my phone isn't working with mobile data, I assume that if I was relying on Beeline to navigate in Spain, I would be screwed. If I had plans to take the bike abroad, I could be less inclined to get one.
Actually, in Spain on an iPhone, no way. You have to pay to use the app, but you do get a month free, if you cancel within a month. That cancellation requires a trip into Apple-land that I am unwilling to take. When back in the UK, I will look again, but I think that I am a little put off it with this dependency on having a working mobile phone on you. I am unsure and I will look at the market again. I am unsure if I want something depdant on having a working mobile. What if you lend your bike to a mate? Do you have to lend them your mobile too?
Just read a MCN review of satnavs. None work for me. Beeline is the closest, but if I was to bring the bike to Spain and suffer from the "no data today, the phone has gone away" I would be screwed. I am thinking that they just cannot be relied on - anywhere, so I will just get lost. If I have a phone with me, stopping for a gander at Google Maps wouldn't be such a terrible thing.
if you can look at google maps in spain then your phone is using data just the same as the bee line would I'm off to spain and portugal next sunday and will be using the beeline with my iPhone 13 with smarty as my network provider ill see how it goes
When I get home, I'll check. I might of bought a Garmin but never used it. I was put off by the moaning about not being able to find a satellite, that was bollox. There were lots! I'll give it ago, it I can find it. There's a possibility that it met Mr Bin, I can't remember. It all does seem too much effort. But if I get a Beeline and ignore the garbage about a free trial, it might work. It will never be used with an iPhone Data Hungry Monster. I've been on Wi-fi all day, yet it has still puzzled about 150k of phone data. I'm sorry to the iPhone lovers, but that's just not right! A gander at Google maps will use a bit of data, but not as much as Beeline. However, based upon my experience in Spain this trip, it depends on what phone you use. If you have a date guzzler, like my iPhone, you are well and truly screwed.
