2010 1100 monster won't start. Only done 10,000 miles Laid up for a couple of weeks. Was fine. I suspect a lack of signal to fire the injectors. I have a spark. Engine runs on Easystart. The fuel pump primes and runs. The compression is good. The relays works and the injectors click when independently hooked up to a slave supply. New High power battery. I understood that the injectors were synchronised with the plug firing sequence so now I'm running out of ideas. Any suggestions.
Could be a rupture of the pressurised fuel lines between pump and injectors. I can't remember on yours, but a carefully study of fuel movement within tank while cap is open might confirm this, but for the want of better wording - you have to know what you're looking for here, as (as "pointed out to me", (but not to a fellow member in the trade(wink, wink))) this is not to be confused with the surging supply of fuel returning to the tank when the engine is not running.
A burst fuel line in the tank is more likely than the injectors not firing as that would imply a faulty ECU.
Hopefully this is all it is, and it's quite common. The first one I ever found was on an Integrale around 30 years ago, exactly the same cause. Sometimes engine will run but only idle and cut-out when loaded, it just depends how bad the split is. If it turns out to be this, make sure you replace with the very best "petrol impervious" hose you can find. I've always used Pirtek. They have many outlets.
Gates 27093 hose is the in tank hose you need. There are other brands Its expensive around £20 a metre. A metre is more than enough to a Ducat pump
Just to add what others have said, if you don't buy the specific hoses mentioned above. You are looking for 'submersible fuel hose'. Lots of fuel hose available is not submersible.
