Thinking of getting the new generation v4s for trackdays. Has anyone used one for track and what do you think of it. Any reliability issues?. Ps got a really nice r1 for sale if anyone is looking for one
I’ve done a few trackdays on the V4S and it’s a weapon. The electronics and Ohlins suspension make it super stable at speed, and the engine is just ridiculous out of corners. Reliability-wise, the new gen is better than the early V4s. The rocker/valve issues are mostly sorted, but service intervals are still short and parts aren’t cheap if something does go. Heat can be an issue in long summer sessions too. Overall, if it’s mainly for track, it’s one of the best stock bikes you can buy. Good luck with the R1 sale as well.
