Decided to pop into my local dealer today as it was their official launch day as a newly appointed Norton stockist. The new dedicated showroom is still being fitted out but the new Manx R was therer as well as a Commando. I am sure, judging by the number of cabinets and shelving, that the obligatory clothing and accessories will adorn the walls soon, but for the time being here is the Manx R they have on display, in a rather fetching pale blue. Looks very reminiscent of a 1098 at the front. This is the "Signature" variant......it's a tad expensive!
What I can’t comprehend is a group of highly paid people sat around a table having designed that .. and signed it off a the latest greatest thing to hit the market! it’s tech is 10 years out of date, it looks awful with some proper dumb bits..I wonder what it costs to make and why tge price is so high in comparison? I do believe a group of bikers could have come up with something better!! yesterdays tech tomorrows prices!
If you mean the Manx R I agree with you. It looks like a Chinese electric bike. And it's the colour of a filing cabinet.
I can't see 39+k in that manx r Likely just me and maybe a small minority, but I don't like it. I certainly wouldn't be happy parting with such a lump of cash for that. It looks more boutique fashion statement that state of the art superbike.
I've a test ride at Woodcote & Copse over at Silverstone 2nd July, looks like it's within a Caterham dealership, you'd struggle to get me of a Ducati , just being nosey The looks also don't do it for me but interested in how the motor feels .
After saying I don't like them, still don't, received an email today about test rides events at dealers, so booked one. Won't buy one but interested to try and a free ride out.
I’ve booked in at Uttoxeter. My days of sportsbike owning are over but it will good to see what this is all about.
Hi, the dealer called me the day before the test advising it may be best to rearrange the date as the traffic around Silverstone pre F1 last week "may not allow me to have the full experience" I said it didn't bother me but they talked me out of going along, it was all a bit strange ! Anyway it's now booked for tomorrow, 8th so will keep you posted Andy.
I quite like them but they do look like the designer had pictures of other bikes in front of him and had just watched Tron the night before when he designed it. Lots of electronics problems too according to the testing I’ve seen.
