  1. Hi. Got a new car coming soon and want out of current car. I have prices from dealer on PX and WBAC but am curious about Car Wow and Motorway services.
    Anyone used them? Any good?
    Cheers.

  4. Oh. Unfortunately that went to scrap two months ago. It was like saying goodbye to one of the kids. I was absolutely gutted but what a car it was. Much loved, never forgotten RIP Chitter

  6. Very helpful their indication is significantly higher than WBAC. Thank you.

  7. I would not use wbac if they were the last place on earth buying cars

You do the online valuation, declare all the damage, scuffed wheels and such, take it down to the nearest site, they look around it, and deduct money again for the damage you have already declared

My son got an online valuation if £4500 for a car, took it down there, they offered just over £2000, i told them to do one, took the car to a dealer, they gave £6500 as px

  8. As an addition to the shitshow that is wbac, they offered £11300 for my 68 plate golf gti performance, went on Motorway, they offered £17250

  9. Yes mate. Aware of WBAC tactics. I had already ruled them out but a useful benchmark.

  10. The golf valuation was done through a car dealer, they use wbac to give an idea of valuation, I did the Mw valuation whilst still sitting at the salesman's desk, this was 13th June this year

  11. I though Parker's green guide was the gospel when it came to 2nd hand car valuations.

  12. Different every time. About 3 years WBAC were best when selling £40k Porsche....and only reduced offer by £200 when saw car

  13. WBAC is not unlike a glorified pawn broker in many ways. Offer you a rock bottom price for your possession, well below market value, then resell it for a considerably higher price. Their business model is a predatory one, feeding on those who are gullible or easily misguided and are therefore duped into an agreement, as well as preying on those forced into selling an asset quickly, owing to their financial needs.

  14. I used WBAC, bought a Toyota van new didn't like it after putting 10k in mileage sold it for £50 less than I paid as it had a chip in the bonnet, they couldn't find any other fault with it.

I was very satisfied with them but the deal was a little high pressure for my liking. But perhaps the appraisers are on commission?

  15. they are.

  16. Parker's Guide was the pre-internet standard, yes!
