any reason why i cannot take some tools on the plane if they are not sharp? anyone flown BA and carried a socket set and allen keys in their hand luggage?
Ahh well I had my torque wrench and Allen keys taken off me at Heathrow when we were flying out for a mountain bike trip.. They think you are going to play Mechano with the plane FFS.. I got them back when I returned home and had to send off for them..
@RC1 They really do, since 9/11, had my cycle tools sacrificed at Manchester airport on my to Lanzarote for an event. It's so you can't 'attack' the pilots cabin door I was told..... Put simply should they find them when they x ray you forfeit them. They used to bag them separately but not certain they do now and last time I flew with tools I put them in with my bike. Fairly sure even something as basic as a non bladed leatherman type tool gets confiscated. Annoyingly also my CO2 canisters but they're fine for a life vest in the cabin and then to deflate my cycle tyres. I did genuinely ask if the pilot did the same to the aircraft tyres once airborne but was met with a blank expression.
We are game, we met you on the services earlier in Italy. Count us in WhatsApp group would be cool to set up for attendees
