So what have you done today..?

  1. When I tried to set up mail forwarding the Royal Mail’s website spat its dummy and so I had to ask for a form to be posted to me. IIRC, it arrived 17 days after I requested it but unfortunately it needed to be returned within 14 days.

  7. I couldn’t face the heat of the 899 today so I took the Gixxer for slightly less roasted nuts.

  10. I've just renewed my eldest pups insurance with a similar policy (slightly less max payout) to one I had for him and saved £312 a year. Result

I'll do the same for the youngest one when his comes up for renewal in November.

  13. Certainly better weather than when we rode there in October.:)

  14. To be honest when he posted about it I had a panic attack while sitting on the terrace thinking something will happen to me or an arrow will land near me or I would be stuck in a lane behind a broken down camper,

  15. Twisted the ankle yesterday, the worst i've ever experienced in my life and will need to move scaffolding today....brave pill required.!

Also sold a Land Rover wheel & tyre that was leftover from the LR sale.

  16. Sorry to hear that, but you've mentioned scaffolding on the worst possible morning.

I have the next 2 weeks booked off work, and amongst other things have a load of work to do on the front of our house.
I arranged weeks ago for a local company to put scaffolding up across the front of the house on Monday next week, but they've emailed last night to say they now can't do it for another 3 weeks.
So I need to take some time out from work this morning to find somebody else who can do it at short notice.

  17. Could you do the work off ladders or maybe hire a tower instead?

  18. Unfortunately not.

I'm replacing all the fake beams on the front of our house because they are rotten, I've already had to rip one off before it came down on it's own.
I also need to paint some other stuff and sort out/replace a slightly leaking gutter.
Doing it from a ladder would be a nightmare, partly because there is only one of me.
Also, I'll be working above a 3ft overhang which is too steep and slippery to stand on, so a tower, or two, won't get in close enough.

  20. You’d get them off a ladder with an easy reach attached I reckon.
