  1. It probably took as long as .........ChatGPT - show me a 1299 Panigale if it were in Tron

  2. Had the test ride yesterday, few thoughts.

Looks from some angles are really nice but from side on it is not a style icon.
Switch gear I really liked, quite a bit different from the run of the mill switches from other manufacturers.
Touchscreen was really nice, functioned well and is laid out so as not to be over cluttered.
When you turn on the ignition there is a bit of a delay but you'd get used to that, 2/3 seconds.
Clutch was a bit grabby when manouvering at slow speeds.
Gear shifts are smooth up & down once your revving a bit harder , like a lot of modern bikes.
Suspension was set quite stiff in sport mode bouncing me about a bit around the roads surrounding Silverstone but once on line in a turn it tracked very nicely.
The brakes, Brembo HyPure had a bit of an initial grabby wooden feel but once a bit more pressure was applied they really really worked very well, Impressive.
The engine felt very revvy with a beautifully linear power delivery, on these roads it was very difficult to find the top of the rev range in anything but 1st & 2nd as the speeds reached in 3rd, 4th just to dangerous, it was an absolute ballistic missile, the torque is placed well and just keeps delivering.
The biggest downside for me regardless of sales blurb was it being super wristy with my palms and wrists aching after only 45 minutes.
    Build quality seemed pretty good.
Would I buy one, probably not, I'm just not sold on the looks which is really important to me also comfort would be an issue with that wrist feel and a pretty firm seat.
Is it worth a test drive, Absolutely just for the feel of the way it revs, power delivery is addictive.
Would have been good to take for a longer ride on some favourite smoother roads. 20260708_135941.jpg 20260708_134149.jpg

  5. The number plate position really does not help the design aesthetic :worried:

  7. UK RTA construction and use requirement, the number plate has to be the rearmost part of the bike. Andy

  8. Nor the 'Space 1999' slatting on the side panels & rear light/seat shenanigans.

  9. Can’t see anywhere you could mount a tail tidy to though, and the indicator wiring goes down the swingarm not the tail

  10. Other bikes that have that set up had kits become available to move the number plate so I’m sure someone will come up with something for it.
