916 Panel Set

  1. Hi all,
Sadly, I have neglected my 916 for a few years and now want to slowly get it up and running again... mechanically, I can sort most myself.. but the panels lacquer has started peeling... yes I could get them painted.. but, has anyone been brave enough to order the cheapie far east panels, sub £400, and who/what site did they come from.
I know the fitment can be questionable, but an infrostrada or Foggy livery would look cool!!

    Thoughts/experiences would help loads!!

Also, I will be looking for a few spare parts if any of you know a man...

    Thanks in advance, Mick.

  2. The guy in that video recently fitted a set and reviews them.

For example, i have good condition fuel tank in red (but needs repainting) that ought to be sold, a pair of brand new O.E.M.mirrors in red etc etc

  4. Thanks to the both of you!
I'll watch that YouTube video the second the missus turns her back

...and one thing that springs to mind is the left and right switch gear... mines faded...

  5. I’ve got a set on my 899 panigale, been fitted 5 years and no problems, fit very well and still look brand new. Also got a set on another bike which are just as good.

  6. when you say right switch gear - do you mean the start/stop switch? (same as some Hondas) if so, the red fades really quickly and nothing bar brand new will show the intended red colour. I have several second hand... all faded/pink...

  7. Thanks thomp1983/Chris

That is exactly what I was after. The fairings actually look alright... I will get the originals painted at some point, but this looks a great way to have a change at low-ish cost.

...and thanks Chris (the other one!), my switches have all faded in the sun - all the white writing has almost disappeared and while I know what the buttons do, it just looks cr4p... I will post some embarrassing pics at some point... and will happily take all the p*ss taking on the chin :D

Seriously tho, thanks for taking the time to reply guys, makes an old Duc owner very happy :motorcycleduc:

  8. Interesting video, he plonked the seat unit on and didn't mention the pain in the bum nylon pins, which Ducati want £6 pound a peice for. Last time I enquired.
