Police forces are not required to follow the 10% + 2 mph guideline. Some may enforce at lower or higher thresholds depending on local policy, road safety concerns, or the circumstances. Gleaned from the internet

Well what we do know is any threshold that might exist in D & C is less than 10% plus 3 mph. Im confident of a speed awareness course, but its not a foregone conclusion so we just need to wait for the wife to dob me in and see what happens.
I'm not sure that the speed awareness courses actually do any good other than as a cash Cow. If you really want to concentrate minds on driving only points on licence work.
I suspect statistically courses work. Yes you pay more for a course than the fine, but it’s not much more so there is no financial incentive for whoever gets the dosh. For someone like me who drives for work, a course with no points is a no brainer. Ironically this will be my third, first one in the campervan on the A303 just completed an overtake going to Cornwall, this one on the A30 coming back from Cornwall, both in my own time.

As the courses are online, you can shop around for the cheapest. A couple of years back I did Hartlepool online for £73 some were well over £90...

Are you sure? I've looked for information supporting this and found nothing. I have found pages and pages supporting the speed limit plus 10% + 2mph. "Standard Tolerances: Thames Valley Police guidelines state that enforcement thresholds across their jurisdiction start at 10% + 2mph. For a 70mph limit, this equals 79mph. For a 60mph variable limit, the threshold drops to 68mph. The only supporting info I came across whas as follows: "The 73mph Confusion: Drivers caught at 73mph are often fined because they passed under a gantry displaying a 60mph variable limit. 73mph is safely over the 68mph threshold for a 60mph zone, resulting in an automatic Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP).
think i got lucky today as forgot, yes - forgot my local Gatso when setting off and passing a few cars. Pretty sure they still flash so must have been obscured by cars*. *not a Pink Floyd album.
3 years ago in Lincolnshire I got done for done for doing 34 mph in a 30 mph limit, so individual forces are clearly able to use their own rules. It was a fixed static camera on the inside of a bend obscured by a tree. ( I travelled that way the following week and stopped to take a look). Personally I felt hard done by and did consider challenging it, but in the end I took the fine and points, I just don't travel to Lincolnshire these days, and if it remains an economic desert, then they only have to look at their draconian speed enforcement as part of the reason.
I appreciate this is not going to court but: Generally, a wife cannot be compelled to testify against her husband in court due to spousal testimonial privilege, which protects spouses from being forced to testify against each other in criminal cases. However, this privilege does not apply in cases involving crimes against the spouse or their children. I wonder how far this one would go?
Doing the "course" aka "keepingYouOnTheRoadToKeepTheRevenuePouringIn" do not work in the long term. I've done two and so did many on my courses. They specialise in finding spots on safe roads with stupidly low speed limits or cameras triggered during the night when nobody is about. Anyway, my question is: what kind of cnut wants to sit I a lay-by on a perfectly safe bit of road to masturb . . . .
