I'm NOT posting to have a go at anyone or forums because I've learnt alot from people who share their experiences BUT..... Ive owned my touring S since march this year but due to an disputed accident last year have had a problem with insurance, but as the summer is now officially here, don't blame me if it snows next week lol, I bit the bullet and got it insured and what can i say other than WOW !... in fact... F"*^KIN WOW !!!! Saturday I did 250 miles with the wife and we both loved it, today 250+ with the boys and I think they ALL loved it What I'm really trying to say here is I have been shit scared of the suspension and all the horror stories about the spring and the settings and was worried that it might not be adequate (i'm not the smallest of ppl) but the bike has handled absolutely brilliantly with both of us on and with me by myself and i don't ride slow far from it I ride fast and hard and this bike has coped with everything and has even pulled me out the shite on a couple of occasions  Cant wait now for my alps trip in July
I cut my screen down last week, again idea copied from members here, I copied my mates PP screen and love it ,the clean air flow is so much better than the stock and DP screen (DP screen now for sale) I don't like the grips, I find them a bit harsh and have left my hands feeling a bit sore, probably with the hold on tight effect that the bike gives
Ah yes, there is often a propensity for issues to get blown up via web forae, but there's also the flip side that problems that do really exist are shared and manufacturers are forced to do what they should and sort things out properly, rather than getting dealerships to fob individuals off. Glad you enjoyed the Multi, I haven't had any issue with the rear suspension, despite 2 up touring myself and having lobbed mates on the back (a couple of whom are definitely not 6 stone racing snakes!) and it coped brilliantly.
Kirkstone Pass nightrider, that used to be on the school run ! The standard screen is a disaster, but the bike is brilliant.
It was Kirkstone Pass John, well spotted. Standard screen ? that is the standard screem mate.......... but as it should be....cut down. got the idea from here and copied the CF PP screen.
Coincidentally a few of us were chatting on the subject yesterday........I agree, there are benefits to hearing all the tales of woe, just takes some common sense to keep it all in perspective. I always take the view that forewarned is forearmed, you may avoid an issue all together with some preventative maintenance, recognise symptoms before an issue progresses too far........or at least know why you're stranded at the side of the road! lol Knightrider - good to hear you're out on the Mutley at last, enjoying yourself and all's good. Suspension....pretty well documented that the MTS12 is undersprung for heavier riders and luggage/pillion, you either have scope to consume a few more pies or maybe the rear spring was upgraded by the previous owner?
Hi budha, Going with a guy called Bill Roughton as I've never been before but there should be a link here that one of his customers did about the trip, takes a bit of reading but worth a look: 675.cc • View topic - Uncle Ed's Alpine Ramblings - beware, image intensive
