Best traditional Inns to stay overnight?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Loverobot, Nov 15, 2013.

  1. Looking for recommendations of Inns/hotels where you can stay, park a bike safely and have a decent meal / pint

I am planning on doing some mini tours of a night away and would plan them around decent places to stay, preferably somewhere with a bit of character eg a decent traditional coaching house

Literally anywhere in the UK if you have personal experience and can recommend?

  2. The Hunters rest near Clutton Hunters Rest Inn Official Home Page (The Hunters Rest Inn was originally built around 1750 as a hunting lodge for The Earl of Warwick), just down the road literally from Louigi Moto and CJS Ducati. Get your bike remapped and the fuelling sorted while you stay there! That's what I did, in easy reach of Bristol and Bath main areas etc. so there is plenty to do.

Area round the back to park a bike and local cider can be purchased from the same site as the above.

  3. tomich hotel, tomich glen afric.

  4. Plenty of those places in Sunny Suffolk. I live in Woodbridge very nice market river side town.:upyeah:

  5. Ps. We come here quite regularly for Sunday lunch (mainly during winter as I'm more often than not out on the bike during spring, summer and autumn). But the food is fantastic and well presented, well priced and the ambience is gorgeous. Particularly on a cold winters day when the log fires are going.

They used to have a Guinea Pig evening where the chef would try out new menus and for £20 a head you'd get a full three course meal with wine, and all you had to do was score the courses and perhaps write a little about them. The food was always magnificent but unfortunately they've stopped holding these evenings now :frown:

I've not stopped there myself but I have had clients stay there and the rooms do look nice and it's not expensive in comparison to lesser "chain" hotels.

    Well recommended. :upyeah:
