Chaps, after tooling about on a loaner 1200 for a week or so, I've become quite attached to it. To the extent where I'm looking at buying a used mutley. I have one in mind - it's an '11 plate. I think it's an S something - electronic suspension and a carbon beak. It has a full service history but it has high miles. I'm happy lookng at a high mileage motor - probably preferable to one that's done very few miles. But it's the rest of the bike that I'm... not concerned about, but I guess I have no experience of the electickery. I have been offered a two year warranty, which I'll probably go for. For the 'ooh, shiny' side of me, it has a lovely termi full system, monoblock front and rear calipers, proper DP footpegs and loads of Rizoma bits. And heated grips. And it's black, so still no red Ducati for me :frown: Can I get the benefit of your experience of the chassis and electronics please? What to look for, what might be an issue. And is there a list of the recalls that should have been done on the bike? I'm buying from a Ducati dealer, so I guess I can just say 'do all the recalls please', but it's always good to know what they are. Thanks!
Check coolant has been changed, warranty job. Check rad for any cracks/seeping, check engine covers for peeling/lifting paint, DEFINATELY go for the 2 year warranty and enjoy it. I presume it's got a full Dealer service? Mines done 22000 miles now and no major things wrong that haven't been sorted out under/out of warranty by dealer.
Move up north Jerry, we could eat black pudding all day and stuff ferrets downs out pants. Got to be better than Chaz and Dave, Barbara Windsor and Jellied eels
Bit he'd have to sell all his toys and take a 90% pay cut....and downsize to a 5 bed country home ;-)
thanks Biot, much appreciated. All looks good: the bike is so clean. Carbon everywhere, Samco hoses, rad protector... Can't think of anything else to do to it! Phone pic: Oh, and Termi, ceramic coated pipes, carbon bellypan, mono blocks front and rear.
Looks like a cracking bike particularly with the 2 year warranty. The monobloc upgrade is someting that doesnt come cheap either £££ Would be really interested in your views on the level of upgrade it brings to the braking ,doesnt need to be much to be better than standard rear ! I have heard a few people on another site having done it saying it is well worth it ? But no one on here yet unless I have missed it.In any event I hope you enjoy the bike , good luck
