  1. While stripping track bike, and letting oil out, found two nuts (one blue one silver) on the bottom of Ohlins shock. Figured its a ride height adjustment?! So wound it UP ie more thread showing at bottom of second lock nut. I cant measure ride height as wheels and stuff off...but am I right this has raised the rear? Fwiw I added about 3mm

  2. If it's like my shock then yeah it's ride height, but obv 3mm at the shock won't necessarily add that at the wheel due to the linkage. is it not easier to get an adjustable ride height linkage? (Does the Evo/S) not come with it?

  3. This is on my gixer, not as easy to adjust ride height as a Ducati

Going to rebuild as it is and see what happens. Need to rebuild smashed seat, remove lacquered decals, fill tank dent and rub all down to get resprayed. And trackdays start in January...

  4. Stock Suspension Tuning?

i would say its high and low speed compression adjustment……..

the only way you would alter the rear ride height is with a different dog bone or longer shock…..

  5. Having googled, seems its a ride height adjuster, guessed it works like a rose joint in the bottom of the body, circled on this pic no 2 (altho different shock with remote preload knob)

  6. Ah ok if thats what you are talking about then yes that will lengthen the shock and alter the ride height!

  7. Yep, the big black one is rebound, compression is on the top of the older Ohlins shocks and alongside rebound adjustment at the top on TTX

  8. measure shock length eye to eye ,call k tech or someone to tell you shock length for your model usually 1 turn on bottom eyelet = 1mm of shock length which I recall = about 3mm at back, top collars are for spring preload or amount of sag you want

  9. Dont you trust my advice?

  10. It was wound all the way down, so looking at what some others have done there is about and inch up and down from centre. So may have put it back to a standard setting, with luck

next challenge, seems I need a special tool to get the fork tops off as its got a ktech 25sstk kit fitted. I only want to get in and check the oil levels, so maybe add some more to firm the front without changing springs

  11. Thread here before I heard from you ;)

And I'm bringing the forks up to you so we can muck about with 'em

  12. k tech sell the triangle spanner to remove the fork caps check their web site out

  13. I made my own. Cut a triangle in a bit of steel plate and welded it onto an old socket, much cheaper
