Can anyone tell me how to take it off without removing the Swingarm!? It's very hard to get to and it's driving me mad!
I take the right side fairing off and the use an adjustable wrench on it from below the bike. If you are fitting a blanking plug then it can be tightened from above using a socket extension bar and rose joint knuckle.
I've tried exactly that but can't seem to get enough purchase on it from below with an adjustable. I'm wondering if there is another way? I'll try again tomorrow.
I did the same as Chris. I'd like to say it was easy. But I've less skin on my knuckles than I used to have. Plus I got angrier than a very angry person. There were promises of extreme violence and a great questioning of parenthood amongst the expletives. Time too slowed down, until suddenly it shifted. It lies still, in the corner of the garage. Where it landed.
I can't get the exhaust out without taking the sensor out first as it snags on the swing arm .......I think there might be some effing and jeffing tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get on...
All I can say is that persistence and bloody minded determination will get it off. Eventually. Good luck.
Top tip! A tap spanner works a treat. Have to do it from the left under the chain but it shifts alright...... Careful that the cable doesn't wrap around the top as you undo the senser! The exhaust really does look shite! Still.... Polishes up nicely More hours required!
All done and back on. Polishing an exhaust is a fecker! Got through some dremmel polishing tools to the in all the nooks and crannies but its there. Its not perfect but as good as I'll get with current patience levels!
