RS carbon seat support

  1. Was in Moto Rapido this afternoon and Steve showed me his 748RS rear subframe which had a carbon seat mount fitted where the 1.6M ECU attaches that you attach the racing seat to. Any chance someone's got one laying around that they don't want ? It would sort out all my issues with trying to fit a fibre glass seat. Thanks, Andy

  2. of course I havent got one, And i am not selling it!

  3. I know the one you mean, they are pretty expensive though and pretty rare. I have one for the P8 subframe but not the one you are after.

Is this what you mean pictured?

  4. Very similar although the two forward fixings were bolted vertically downwards rather than the side as pictured but it would do the job admirably. Clearly there are at least 2 varieties. Thanks, Andy

  5. Then do you mean this type, which is the P8 ECU type. These are more common there is one on eBay now $125 from the US plus P and P

  6. I made a few a number of years ago until the mould got damaged. I'm sure I saw one I was keeping to take a pattern off when I was packing to move house earlier in the year.
I'll get back to you later as I'm suuuuper busy this morning. Already being moaned at for being on here.

  7. Yep, that's the one. Sorry for the delay but we've been to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park today and just got back. Andy

  8. Thank you. Andy

  9. Remarkably similar Andy, thanks for that. Andy

It's hardly my best work, as I said I was only keeping it to get the basic shape to make a new mould from. I was knocking them out at £100 for finished items but if you're prepared to drill the holes yourself and put up with it looking a bit tat I'll post this out to you for £45. That'll cover the carbon cost and postage. Definitely a function over form part though.
