thinking of getting my wheels powder coated GOLD any one seen a white mts with gold wheels, what ya think?
yeah can understand your concerns, it took me 18 months to decide to do the same on my fz1 but was happy with the result.
Gold and white can work mate, the rest of the bike will break it up with odds and sods of black, if i was to do it Id go with the subtle gold you have on the FZ1 though, more of a flat gold End of the day its your bike and how much is it gonna cost to have the wheel re-powder coated black later IF you were to sell it, £80? hardly worth worrying about resale value if its only the wheels. I say go for it
thanks for that damodici that's my thinking too, I just don't like black wheels but for some reason (probably money) it's the standard on most bikes.
black wheels are a tad boring but then again I like my bikes to be bold in colour or design, some dont like it and would rather stay standard or subtle. Each to their own
I like gold. Black is rather dull. Saw a red multi in P&H with gold wheels looked very nice shame about the OTT sticker kit. Devalue bike bollocks !! Gold harder to keep clean than black - bollocks dirt does not settle on gold wheels more than black! All wheels get dirty. I coat my wheels with a good quality wax - NOT polish which is abrasive. Wax such as Poorboys Natty's Blue lovely stuff. Apply a thin layer leave for a few minutes to dry / haze over and then buff with a micro fibre cloth. Use as much as you like will not take any paint off as its a pure wax. Provides a protective coating so dirt and brake dust is easier to wash off. Smells good too.
One of the other members has done gold wheels on their red multi and I think it looks the nuts..... See it here: http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f2/multistrada-gallery-61/index2.html#post3858
