Does anyone know if injector from 748r will fit 748 frame? The airbox looks lika twice bigger, and i read somewhere on the forum that frame on 748 differs from frame on 748r? Thanks in advance!
The 748R frame is the same as a 998 frame only with different coil location brackets, often called the Kyalami frame. There is quite a lot to swapping engines and frames around from\between the 748R to 748 and vice versa. Even if you could fit 748R injectors to a 748 you will find that it will not perform that well. I have a 748R engined 748S and that is a conversion worth undertaking as the small injectors work well on a 748R and it gets rid of the stumbling they are known for. You do need to reprogramme the chip in the ECU though, CJS did mine and it is spot on in terms of fuelling.
No it wont fit and is pretty pointless. unless you are pumping out 127+bhp the standard injectors are fine. Above those circa figures you will need to fit 50mm throttle bodies and run twin injectors as the single fuel time injector TB's cant deliver enough fuel. If you want to fit a big airbox - either fabricate your own or buy an EVR C90 airbox
The 748R was cut up slightly by the previous owner to get the engine out, this was after he crashed it. Frame can be repaired so I have kept it and the other is to convert the 998 to a pukka 748R for a race project when I get round to it.
