Nuts!!!

  1. The stud nuts holding the downpipes in place on my friends SS are rusted like f***. We've managed to remove one but the others are just rounding off. Particularly the inside 1 on the rear downpipe. It's a complete bugger to get any proper leaverage as it is.

    Any ideas??

  2. I've heard good things about these, but I'm not sure there'd be enough clearance? Not tried them myself but I'm fairly certain a time will come!! Alternatively, can you modify a punch or chisel or similar and chisel the bugger off?

  3. heat, get a blow torch on them and they're usually come off. and a good quality 6 sided socket to good too

  4. The problem is the inside stud on the rear down pipe, due to the angle of the down pipe and the angle of the stud. There's no way of fitting a 3/4" socket let alone getting the wrench on. Reading up on other websites - a nut splitter or if you have no patience like me then heat, hammer and chisel.
