Ohlins Fork Oil Seals

  1. Can you get seals that are better than the Ohlins original fitment. Bike is a 1098s

  2. Yamaha fork seals are a straight replacement and last longer.

  3. They are crap, aren't they? I have the same forks on my 916 and they started leaking within 2 years. I had them replaced (and the internals upgraded) by Ktech - hope the new ones last better...

  4. I heard GSX thou K4 seals do the job, need to find out as I've got to do them on 1098 and also got 2 other bikes with Ohlins.

  5. Being a lazy sod I asked on here. I then googled Yamaha seals and there are a couple of threads on US sites. Gixxer 1000 fit but they are tighter and it appears can very quickly wear the gold nitride off the stanchion. A lot of people claim to have had success by using a "seal Saver" cleaning the muck out and stopping the leak alternatively use a piece of 35mm film or similar
