  10. Stayed here the night before the 2013 Sunset to Sunrise run. Cartref Guesthouse Caernarfon - Home
Really nice owners, great breakfast and Caernarfon has some really good pubs and pub food. Single room was a bit small, but comfy and very clean. Reasonably priced too :upyeah: Bike parking on the road outside.

  11. The only place I have seen a town of rougher-looking people than in Caernarfon was in Charleroi, on the Franco/Belgian border.

    Spectacularly ugly populations.

  12. what?- the French and the Belgians- wow, bit sweeping!! don't fancy the chances of you getting out alive, on your next cross border shopping trip…..

  13. Even grottier than Charleroi is La Louviere. It's the pits.

  14. The Belgians, by and large, are a poor looking race. It's just how it is.

In many places in France, they are pretty good-looking. Some places over-index for good-looking people. Bits of Australia and California spring to mind. Paris isn't shabby. London has improved dramatically in 30 years. Must be all the immigration...
Liverpool has a high index of nice looking girls, at any rate (don't know about the blokes - I'm not qualified to say).

But some places... well. It's just more clustering at work, isn't it?

  15. You need different specs if you think thats right. Liverpool...

  16. We went mid May last year, costal route up the East side, across top and down West side. Weather was basically everything. Rain. More rain. Sunshine. SNOW! Not much fun going through Glencoe with snow at the side of the road and sleet falling..
    Waiting till June next time:wink:

  17. Hah! Had a weekend in Ravenglass last winter with the gf. There may be competition from what we witnessed.

  18. It was good in 1985.
Haven't spent a lot of time there recently.

  19. Actually don't mind at all if we can manage to rate the female populations so that I can prioritise my destinations - these mini trips are all about the scenery, 'things' to visit and of course the 'riding'! As for Liverpool - I too was there in late 80s and there were lots of fit girls then - not really been back properly since mind
