Keis inner heated gloves

  1. Hi was looking to get a set and was wonder if anyone has a pair and their views? Are they worth it?

  2. I have a pair and so does the trouble . On mine I use a cable that attaches to the battery and plug the glove cable into it. The Trouble uses a separate small rechargeable battery so she can wear the gloves whenever she wants as she gets cold easily and has Reynauds disease which affects her fingers in the cold. They work well and it certainly keep your hands good and warm. My only criticism is that they are a bit fiddly to use and you can feel a little like a child in a long coat with gloves on a string if you know what I mean .

  3. Yer I was thinking of getting the one with the rechargeable, would you say they are better then outer ones?

  4. I didn't even look at the outer ones to be honest so cant really comment. I`d go for the rechargeable ones if I thought I would use them a lot off the bike but I don't suffer from the cold usually, only on longish bike rides in the winter !

  5. I was just thinking the battery ones save connecting to the bike and having the wires

  6. True, is there a retailer anywhere near you that stocks them so you can have a look ?

  7. I rung up infinity today but they are out of stock they can order them in but have to pay for them first, that's why I thought I would get someone's views before I go ahead :) cheers

  8. I had some of their gloves years ago, sure they worked to keep me warm, but all the hassle with the leads was a pain, and no real crash protection (not an issue with just inners i know), and then there was the worry about them not disconnecting in a crash or leaving a live wire near where fuel could be leaking so when one packed up i fitted oxford heated grips and find them much better. I can wear which ever gloves i want, winter or summer, and even pop them on low in the cool summer days with my race gloves on just to keep the chill off. And yes, despite being inside the hand the heat they give off will keep your hands warm even down to -6 degrees celcius which is the lowest i've used them in. Don't know what motorway wind chill factor on top of that would be, but they worked.

  9. Was told that the heated grips only heated your palms and it's my fingers that seem to suffer?

  10. I use unheated Merino wool inner gloves with winter gloves and without heated grips they work really well, the only problem with glove liners is that you do lose a lot of feel, especially on the clutch lever.

  11. I spouse all depends on the individual person and what your most suited with.

  12. I have a pair of the full (external) glove from 2012/13, and agree there is not a lot of protection. Maybe prevent road rash in a low speed fall, but that's about it. However - they are the bomb in terms of keeping your hands warm!! After two seasons they are still in good nick and work well.

Also, worth noting that the 2014 gloves appear (at least based on the marketing photos) to be armoured and much more of a biker glove. Also commensurately more expensive than the previous generation glove.

I run them off the bike battery, my gf uses hers with the rechargeable battery and gets 2hrs life... so both viable options.

Cabling isn't too much of an effort if you have a dedicated bike jacket and invest a bit of time to sew/tie the cabling to the jacket sleeves.

  13. I've got some, along with a pair of boot liners and a jacket and I find them absolutely brilliant, even if as others have said, a bit fiddly to set-up. I've got a spare pair if you are interested in buying them, brand new, un-worn, however, no battery pack though, so that would need to be bought separately.
The guys at BykeBitz, in Yateley , (here's a link to their website www.bykebitz.co.uk) keep all the stuff in stock, so give them a shout.
    :upyeah:

  14. I have found bykebitz really helpful. Personally I wear a heated vest when Im riding in the very cold but plugged into the bike. The battery has a habit of failing at the most inconvenient moments.

  15. What size are you, Gman?

  16. Large for me:eek:
