I seem to remember someone was making these a while ago?...could anyone point me in the right direction?? Basically I'm stripping the original speedo and affiliated parts, to be replaced with a translogic dash. Wanting to remove the front wheel speedo drive as it's unsightly and is a pig to clean. I'm sure I've read that some owners have blanked it off with a spacer/sleeve of some type? Anyone have the dimensions? Cheers.
The axle is 25mm and the width of the speedo drive is 30mm, iirc. You should be able to buy a spacer from another model - I think the Hypermotard, 749/999, 848/1098/1198, etc all use a spacer that is the correct dimension. A good tip for making spacers is to buy a bearing with the correct dimensions, ie a 25mm internal diameter, and then cut the outer race and remove the balls to leave you with just the inner race as a spacer. It'll be in the right material as well! Look for a 25mm ID bearing and maybe 10mm or 15mm wide and put them together. I did this when I went to 1098 forks on my 748 and fitted a TransLogic at the same time. Cost about £3 all in
