Hi members I'm after a number plate bracket/tail tidy for my 2002 748e. I'm trying to keep her original so I want one that allows use of the original indicators but a smaller number plate. I've been searching but nothing really jumps out at me. Any suggestions? Cheers COH555
i couldn't find anything either. i ended up just buying a smaller plate and bolting it higher up on the standard bracket.
Well you can go down to about a 6 inch plate on the standard bracket. Or if you want smaller, there are standard and carbon brackets on ebay right now. Gives you the option of cutting one down and keeping your original. Now looks are a personal thing but if you really wanted a clean look, I fitted the indicators in the rear vents, had a 5.5X1.5 inch plate mounted to the reflector bracket and binned the hanger all together. Doesn't help with std indicators though, just throwing it out there as an option.
You can cut down the original number plate bracket and do it like that. I am pretty certain I have a cut down bracket somewhere if you want to buy it and then keep the original. PM me if you are interested and I will dig it out. It's a while since I saw it but I am fairly certain I have one. I can send you a photo first if you want.
Here's the R&G one on my '02 748s. Nice compact size, great quality but the indicators are total pish.....! I think the original ones may fit with a little modification!!
Hi chaps, I have a 748 bp with a single seat. I was thinking of mounting the indicators in the upper vents.has yet I have'nt found any suitable indicators to fit. There are some side repeater LED indicator lights off BMW car front wings ,that look like they will fit behind the vent grills. I would probably use silicone to fix them in place,but I am concerned if they would be bright enough. Has anyone found any others that are suitable. Thanks Dogrose
dogrose, i used flush indicators and araldited them in place just behind the mesh. Worked fine. The exact ones I used are on ebay for £9.99. Just type motorcycle flush indicators and they're currently the first ones there. Sorry, i don't know how to paste links to it.
