Spotted this on ebay - Ducati 916SPS (0414 0f 1058) | eBay Seller doesnt seem to realise it has a Mag swingarm, could be a cheap investment for someone...or a nice bike for parts. Howerver not too sure on if its a genine SPS?..discs arn't right etc etc.
I think the clue is in the fact seller has set a reserve. Some nice bits and pieces on there and wouldn't worry about brake disks being different.I changed mine for lighter weight ones from 998s.I also opted for the later 4 pad brembo calipers from same bikes.
Depends what the reserve is I guess.Could be cheeky and ask but I would tell them to just bid and find out.
I recon he's prob valuing it at around £7k I buy and sell alot of bikes on ebay and generaly a deal is done with coming to a deal rather than bidding.
And this one? Down site it has been used for 32000miles. But hey that's what they made for..... Te Koop: DUCATI 916 SPS » BikeNet
Nice to see some 916 sps bikes up for sensible price unlike 916sps foggy reps.Looks like seller has removed reserve so could be a real bargain.Ive sold a few mag swingers on ebay for well over £1000 more with corse rocker and them wheels are worth a few bob for sure. Might be worth anyone interesting contacting seller then but I just bid on my bike when it was on ebay auction and got it for a great price. Then again it was 7 yrs ago now. Turned up quick look over , paid cash and off I rode.Happy days.Guess im a sellers dream to deal with. Then again I realised I had a bargain with kit like ducati oe ohlins forks ,marchesini wheels,rearsets,p4 calipers etc etc and some carbon bling already fitted by previous owner. Great bikes and go like shit off a shovel.
Sold to a breaker who sells on ebay..some of the bits are for sale already. A shame if you ask me as everything will now be massivly over inflated!
Is it the same guy who is breaking this 748R? It looked like a decent enough bike before it was broken. He has the frame going for a starting price of £1190 complete with plaque. Yes thats the guy, hes been selling duc bits for the last few months. Mainly sps/sp/r bits...lokks to have broken all the bikes by the looks of it. Has some nice gear..forged Marchesini's, dymags, loads of engines, carbon and rare dp bits some have all come up. Looking out for the mag arm when he finaly lists it...my betting he'll want 2k+ though....
Breaking is truly sorry. And what will they make....To take the time, take it apart, sell it on eBay en send it out, what should be the profit for example a 748r?? Maybe I'll should start breaking also.... I know there is a Dutch man that's also selling on the uk eBay site (ducriderbianca) hey bought a 998s for about £5800 with 30k on it which is a fair price. Selling it in parts, asking price for the engine only is £2650 only now the engine did 7600 miles though Insane I think.
I know someone quite a while ago who could not sell an early 748R so he broke it instead. He made £500 over his asking price after taking into account all the ebay listing cots and final fees etc. It's a lot of work for that sort of money. I agree the eBay seller with the SPS does have some nice stuff but he seem to sell at very high prices, not exactly many bargains to be had. With engines you are taking quite a chance unless you can see it in the bike, some put up a video with it running and then break it and show the engine number on the running bike and after it is broken, but even that can be fiddled with a view of a set of clocks off another bike.
Ebay fees are huge!..forums are the way forward. I broke a 13s r6 last year that i brought damaged, i paid around half of the average price sold the engine on motoforum for almost as much as i paid for the bike (had all the genuine service books with vin and engine numbers to show milage/maintainance etc) I ended up making enough to by my my first Ducati last summer (848) and never looked back! I do agree its sacralige breaking a Ducati though, espacialy an sps/r or such like.
Was that the same guy who was trying to sell a used 54mm Termi system for 2k or something?...i messaged him about a dp slipper that he had....wanted £500 or something stupid!! There seems to be alot of the Dutch selling used parts on ebay at the moment, where the hell are they getting all the bikes from to break?
Friend of mine went to Amsterdam (by bike) for a long weekend a while back, had his bike nicked whilst he was there. Just saying...
You can get a new one, including the rocker for less than £2k from Italy; forcellone/magnesio/ Ducati 998/996/916/748 | eBay
Yep but a lot of folks don't seem to look Dukedesmo.Don't know why I guess ebay makes it easy for people that cant be arsed to look around.Im all for breaking bikes like sps and r models if you can make more money that way.Especialy if they are dripping in top notch hard to find performance parts. The last mag swinger I sold went for £1500,dp carbon headlight surround £350 and dp carbon airtubes went for silly money as no longer available easily from your local ducati dealer. Then you have wheels and single seat unit that fetch top dollar also. I once sold a seat unit for £580 used to a guy in Germany.Happy days and don't take much work or time before you are well into profit.Good luck to em I say and one of the reasons id strip all the performance parts off my bike and sell separately to bike if I ever decide its time for a change. From my experience forums are full of timewasters folks with champagne tastes and lemonade pockets.Worldwide ebay is where the good money is at and google translate makes dealing with non English speakers a piece of piss.
Yes he has/had a 54mm for silly money though. I bought one for about 650 about a year ago on a German website. The bikes are bought on ≥ Marktplaats - De plek om nieuwe en tweedehands spullen te kopen en verkopen If you need to buy, buy on a German forum: Ducati-sbk.de those are normal prices in mine opinion.
