  1. snp are nothing like ukip. don't believe that pish, like most people i know i wouldn't entertain any anti English bollox, like your self's we want the politicians we vote for. and not some bnp shit because no one could be bothered to vote.

  2. Its the motivation behind the argument that worries me. Why destroy something that works, or is being first minister not good enough? It appears that he wants to go down in history as being the one that gave Scotland its independence back, therefore it is about his ego, I genuinely do not believe that scotland will work as well as an independent as it does as a member of the UK. I too love the country, my in laws are/were (deceased) Scottish and proud of it, but not at the expense of disunity and potential ruin.
Salmond may or may not be a good politician, however his arguments appear to be based on his own wishful thinking rather than the reality and when reality is questioned he either shuts up, refuses to respond or goes on the offensive, to detract from the argument (typical politician).
I hope that a country that has produced some of the greatest free thinkers, engineers etc can see past him and his rhetoric.

  3. being "cool" abroad is very important in this globalized economy.

  4. I didn't imply SNP were like UKIP. And the majority of voters don't get politicians they vote for. Me for one.

  5. no prob, but i bet you wished you did.

  6. I hope that the Scottish people don't vote yes.Having lived in Troon in my early years and loved every minute of it too,I find this type of politics frankly manipulative, devious and not in the best interest of the people of Scotland but feel a large percentage will understand the responsibily that decisions made in hast may have to their future.Don't make a yes decision unless you really have to and you certainly don't need to at this point.

  7. I still remember when the SNP were a bunch of folky nob heads. Nothing has changed. Except Scotland decided to listen to them instead of reason. The SNP are, despite Fins protestations, just Scottish Conservatives with a nationalist twist. Its the only way the Tories can score a vote north of the border and the foolish lap it up. Remember this conversation Fin, as you weep into your porridge when the grim realisation dawns. Yer doomed, doomed i tell yer. Doomed.

    Did I mention the dooming?

    Haha Fins a Tory Boy

  8. fins not a tory. but i do have this rare ability to see both sides of an argument. i believe without business/corporations we are all doomed including the working class so in that respect i am a tory. i also know we are in competition with the rest of the planet but what chance does the north have when the referees has signed allegiance to the south. ya turncoat.

  9. Turncoats? You should be used to this.... Read your history.

  12. I think and its only my opinion.....alex salmond is trying what the ira has so far failed....breaking the union. I really hope he fails.

  13. shouldn't really link those two in the same sentence but i get your point. Why tho?

  14. The few Scottish people i have asked who live in Scotland all hope ad think the yes vote is doomed. Personally Im easy either way but hope if they do vote and attain independence they join the EU and adopt the Euro.

  16. and so true. braw.

  17. The SNP are socialists in tartan, just like the Conservatives are socialist in suits.

All major political parties are socialist today, by virtue of the size of the state and the way they borrow and spend other people's money.

  18. Which bits of the State would you sooner not have, johnv?
Which bits would you prefer were not financed?

  19. the no campaign for a start.
as i mentioned on another thread, mostly financed by party's/individuals that support the out of touch government of Westminster we almost all suggest couldn't give a flying you know what unless there's a nice little earner in it for them self.
i so hope Scotland don't bottle it. what an opportunity to rid our self of the Westminster civil service a start again.
