Supercorsas

  1. Hi looking for some new tyres for the coming track day season and am tempted by Pirelli Supercorsas ,any suggestions and comments welcome ,good or bad ,my ride is 996SPS

  2. On a dry track they're amazing, lots of grip. in fact, very similar characteristics to slicks.

However, on cold wet roads, they're not good at all. It's like riding on marbles!

I'd recommend them for warm summer roads too but you won't get many miles out of them, expect 1,000 - 1,500 on the rear.

  3. thats the kind of performance i'm after, super sticky, not to bothered by good wet characteristics, are the supercorsas also known as BSBtyres

  4. Diablo rosso corsa tyres are excellent. I've been running supercorsa's on the 998R and then went over to these and they are fantastic, even in colder/damp conditions

  5. Cheers Steve ,I think I saw your 998R at Seastar a couple of years ago when we had a rideout to Southwold or somewhere....

  6. Hi,

What you want is Supercorsa SC1 front and SC2 rear. They are not the same as "BSB" ones.
I have used the SC1/2 combo for many a year and always found them to be excellent.

They even stop you going straight on a Snetterton at the end of the Revett Straight.....LOL!

  7. Yes, that was me. Having a DOCGB meet at my pub on Sunday 15th April if you're around 2pm onwards (non members also v welcome). Will post full details on the forum.

  8. Errrr , I feel very embarassed about that, schhhhhh!!!!!!
So ,what are SC1/2 I presume they are compound related?

  9. Sounds good ,should have the bike taxed by then

  10. Yes.
    SC1 - soft compound
    SC2 - medium compound

As stated by someone earlier - not too good on the road in the wet (but OK if you take it easy) but effing great in the dry!

    Cheers,

  11. steveknowles, what sort of miles have you done on the diablo rosso corsas? interested in these as my next set.

  12. Haven't done much mileage on them since fitting, so can't give feedback re wear rate, but they are definitely an improvement over the old supercorsa's particularly in cold/damp. I had v little confidence with the supercorsa's in the wet.

  13. I've got BSB Supercorsas on the 998 at the mo.... Medium Front and Soft Rear - they are absolutely awesome..... not tried them in earnest in the wet / cold - but the grip is really good in the dry..... this set have done 4 track days and there's plenty left of them....
