I remember using "ticker tape trollies" for my Nuffield physics O level. You sent the trolley down a slope as it pulled a ribbon of tape behind it through a morse code sort of key which made a dot on the tape. You measured the gap between the dots to work out the acceleration or velocity. Then you wrote up your results. Alternatively, since this method rarely produced the right answer, you did the maths and worked out how far apart the dots needed to be for the distance to fit the equation. Then you found a suitable piece of tape, cut it up and stuck it in your exercise book to go with your experiment write up.
I put some earplugs in today, I don't normally wear them. It was like riding in a goldfish bowl! Not keen at all
Strawberry picking near Taunton, and the prospect of sweating over a hot jam pan this eve, trying to make the bastard stuff set. It'll be worth it, my mother likes my strawberry jam.
We are driving down to Spain, today we stopped at Oradour St Glane. Glad we did but a horrendous story goes with it. Quite odd to walk around. took the camera but no pictures, really didn't feel appropriate. Tonight we are in St Jean De Luz, just south of Biarritz, very pretty.
Ached all day from the exertions of yesterday at Brands. Do I care ? Hell no, at 60 I still love motorcycling and my passion is my Ducati 748R . Andy
Followed an interesting rider on a white tailed 848/1098/1198 poss a Bayliss rep round the long sweeper on the 272, I was on the blue supermoto waiting to pass, if you pull your leg in you'll be able to lean into the turn and you never know that knee may touch down...not only that but it would let traffic past MUST get me one of those cameras..
lol, whoever it was has a full system can't hear it over the moto but could see the down pipe, they were following a blackbird or something like that who ran off line into the double whites? Interesting riding style from both...lol takes all types to make a world....lol
Spent most of the day somewhat uncomfortable, a little of the day in moderate pain, a few moments in severe pain, and a couple of instantaneous moments in unspeakable life altering pain - bad enough to go white and instantly drenched in sweat, noticeably enough to raise the concern of a passer by in Asda.
I'm being an idiot and trying to do too much too soon. I have to keep telling myself I had major knee surgery only a week ago, it's not reasonable to try and act as if nothing has happened, I must rest.
Oh I should add to the what did you do today thread and say.. Ripped toe nail off under workshop door, that's sandals for ya
