so is a policeman not allowed to ask certain members of society if they have done the deed? BBC News - Kate McCann's son asked about claims she 'hid Madeleine'
Bradders he was 2 years old traumatisied by his sisters disappearance, by the emotional response of his parents, and no doubt over whelmed by it all. Then you get an incompetent investigation by the Portuguese police who's chief detective had already decided upon the mccanns guilt and tried to make the facts as he saw them ( even though there was no evidence) fit the crime including an attempt to guide/lead a 2 year old into telling him what he wanted to hear.
fair point, not read all the article, but tbh they sue anyone who suggests they may have been at fault. Or so it seems. And isn't that how most police investigations work?!
Yes you have to investigate however you don't make things fit, it's all about evidence and remaining open minded otherwise you make a fool of yourself like this investigator has. Yes they sue but tbh put yourself in their shoes you have had a 3 yr old taken from you, the investigation has been poor at best, then to cover for the lack of progress the lead investigator starts asserting that you have done the crime without any evidence. I would sue the arse out of him.
and I can't help thinking of that was my own council estate cousins, they'd still be inside a cell somewhere and no one wold thunk a jot about it
That is the power of the press. There was a back lash against two professionals within the press both abroad and here. The water was further muddied by the portugeuse police. We judged them by our own attitudes n values in connection to this , and our responses would have been different had they been from a council estate. Now thinking about it logically the 3 children were put to bed together by the mccanns who then joined their 4 friends approx 50 yds away within site of the apartment. They then found Madeline missing at the end of the night. All witnessed by the friends. So what's the motivation ? Accident ? Without friends knowing? How do you dispose of a body again without friends knowing? Or are the 4 professionals complicit in the offence? More likely are; Targeted kidnapping by 1 or more offenders for sexual gratification. Targeted kidnapping by people traffickers or by Roma/gypsys who were present some 300yds away and would have seen the young blonde haired child. Burglary gone wrong child wakes you silence her and take body with you.
or child woke up, got scared, all alone, wandered off, no idea from there. doesn't mean they are not responsible for what happened or that I still don't get why criminal charges of neglect and abandonment weren't brought. If it were your Benidorm average lot, they would have been hung on return to Luton airport
Have you never left your child for one moment? Or put your child to bed and gone outside on the patio for the night? The neglect would have to consider whether they had done all they could that's was practicable to safeguard their child. Now from my understanding they did. You cannot foresee the actions of another with criminal intent. Therefore they did all that could have been reasonably expected. Put yourself in their shoes, how would you be feeling? They have been judged because they are successful because they don't live in a council house because they should know better. You don't think they know that?
Nope. Not until he was 11 and we went down to the bar on holiday and he knew where we were and was fast asleep when we went. I also left him reading in a tent at a track day where we knew most people while I wandered off for a chat. No beer either cases. It wouldn't even enter my head to go a hundred yards or more away, get fully engrossed in conversation with drink and leave my son or a child I was responsible for alone at anything like that age. Its not a question of know better; its a question of being treated differently because of their elevated status
It is every parents worst nightmare and I am sure the McCann's blame themselves every day; I have every sympathy for them. The press have been cruel and sensationalist in their coverage of the story and I think this is what colours peoples opinions of the McCann's who come across as lacking warmth but lets' face it if we were in their situation we probably wouldn't be smiling either.
If they did do it, they have to be some sort of criminal masterminds with all this police/press interest. Plus the big question remains, why?
A woman in glasgow in on trial for beating her child over a 4 day period, killing him and buying him in a suitcase then claiming he was missing. The question applies: why?!
I's sooner believe the McCann's than the press. Anyone who gives more credence to a Portuguese hack who profiteers from Maddies disappearance needs their head examined. The press are comparable to politicians where untruths, lies and insinuation is concerned. Journalism is a dying breed.
there are far too many inconsistencies and far too many rumours floating around, a quick google on the subject will bring up numerous theories and "facts" about the subject and the people involved bottom line is they have never accepted any guilt for leaving 3 children unattended, and they were very quick to set up a fund which they have been less than open about where the funds have been used - most of it on legal expenses and only a small portion in actually looking for the missing child had they been less photogenic, lived on a council estate, not been freemasons and had various useful connections they would have had the remaining children removed from them and been done for child neglect what ever happened they will have to live with it and the media circus for a very long time
