Well with a week to go how are you feeling. To be honest I'm a little nervous, but also excited. I'm worried about the bike, me, finding places to stay en route...the latter was a conscious decision as I didn't want to find myself 'needing' to cover serious miles to get to a hotel in time
Booked my taxi this morning to get me to the airport on saturday as my tour starts in Vienna this weekend! I keep seeing pics on facebook of all the other guys getting packed and ready and I can't wait!!!
Steady on, we're not going to Dakar via Outer Mongolia. The whole trip is within the EU, of which we are citizens, and through areas which have plenty of good roads, hotels, restaurants, petrol stations, and friendly people many of whom speak English. Also we'll be meeting up with folk we know. It's be a piece of cake and, in these days of mobile phones and SatNavs, even easier than that. You'll love it! When it gets about 6pm, head into the nearest town and you'll probably spot a hotel or B&B straight away. Or a SatNav can show you where the hotels are locally. Failing all else, go to the town railway station - there are always a couple of cheap hotels near the station. In many areas, B&Bs hang out a sign with a picture of a motorbike in summer, meaning bikers welcome.
No need to stress yourself - you're on yer 'olidays. Even if you were delayed and got to Rimini a day later than planned - so what? You don't have to prove anything, and WDW will still be there. Relax!
Is there still a motorcyclist 9pm curfew in most countries on the continent? And is it still a prison sentence for offending?
Panniers done, just got to pack the topbox. Job interview Friday morning, back home, jump on the bike n down to the Chunnel for Sat am... Love touring n always excited about it
Bring it on. Most of the time not used sat nav, but this trip we are so could be interesting. Van transporter to the Alps, 2days of biking then van again to WDW. Just waiting on the FairFX preload credit card, which I hope will arrive in time. May see some of you guys there
you will be fine, the chances of getting a puncture, chain breaking, loosing you cash or phone, getting lost breaking down on the motorway, drooping your your luggage and damaging your camera is not impossible but quite slim. enjoy.
Enjoy your trip it really is a blast and if they're doing it again get your suspension set up free of charge on site and do a Curves & Tournes tour , enjoy the totty and don't spend too much in the outlet shop
