Monster Electrical Problem

  1. Hi all
    I have a 2000 900 monster ie. the starter wont turn over unless I earth a small resister that connects the two wires that go to the starter relay, i cant find this on the wiring diagram so am now confused.

  2. Ah, thought for a minute you meant a really really big electrical problem ;)
     
  3. It's supposed to be there.........just make sure it is connected securely.....
     
  4. Mark, its a £0.20p diode, it is there to prevent voltage from the starter solenoid windings going back up the circuit and damaging sensitive stuff like the ecu. If it goes wrong you may find one of the fuses blows (IIRC the 7.5A one). It was not present in older bikes or older looms
