Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Brad3AB, Aug 26, 2014.

  1. Well Monday is my first open pit day I'm well excited, the multi should be well up to it, any advice for a Mutley on track, I've took the centrestand off, got adjustable pegs anything else I should do??

  2. Max preload and firm up suspension.

  3. Practise swapping from 'Sport' to 'Enduro' mode really quickly in case you run off :)

Tyre pressures should be dropped too. 32 psi front 35 psi rear with Michelin PR3's on worked well for me.

  4. i'll be there on Monday but on my blade track bike, its in Castrol colours :upyeah: ill look out for the Mutley !!

  6. take off/tape over the mirrors, same with indicators/headlights.... tape over the speed reading on the dash

  7. Bike doesn't like bodyweight movement, it unsettles it mid turn especially fast left/right type stuff. End of the Bentley straight when turning right after. Left and old russels where its long right ti brake sharp and turn Will be interesting..mind you I have a bit more weight for it to cope with so may be you're ok

  8. And when you take off the mirrors, remember that one is threaded clockwise and the other anticlockwise (but I can't remember which way round)...

  9. The right mirror screw has a left hand thread, counterintuitively.

  13. Hey, I was out there yesterday too, on the Hypermotard. Saw the after bits of your get off. Glad to hear you are ok.

Heard a rumor that you were on the phone with the misses and told her you're just watching some mates at the track before you headed to Wales? Any truth to that? lol

  14. No don't believe them.......lol!! And I was going to come and say hello when I see you move in next door then I got sidetracked literally, how was the hyper round snet good?? And I was curious to what your number plate was?? Oh and I nearly bought a hyper sp!! Wicked bikes but I do to many miles plus the multi shifts round that track...... It did run out of talent though haha!!

Truth be told I was in the doghouse till my bike was fixed, and my trip is still going ahead, the missus keeps saying the bike is poorly, like it's a person, she loves the multi, that's why I ain't got an sp, under the thumb much!!!!

  15. It did good, once I got some track tyres put on. See, I haven't used street tyres on the track in about 2 years now and I showed up on the bike with Michelin Pilot Power 3's. From the reviews, I thought the Michelin's would hold up good, but no they're shit on the track if you're running Advanced group times/laps. They're good street tyres though. Within 3 laps they were already greasy and I was sliding around, along with the traction control(on lowest setting) going crazy every corner. So I went and got some Pirelli Supercorsa SC's. I was only able to get a total of maybe 40 minutes of ride time total, 30 of that on the Pirelli's because I didn't go out once it started raining.

This was my first time on this track and I really love this track, which by the way I also work there now. I'm one of the Safety Marshal's! Was able to get a day off to ride.

My number plate is still my plate from America. I had it shipped here and got it about 3 weeks ago now.

Yeah I originally wanted a Multi, but it was out of my price range, so went with the Hyper SP. I've fitted the SP with a tall windscreen and rail system with Top Case. I just take them off for the track. I've done some pretty good trips with it, even one down to France with the misses and it was comfy. It's been great for the street and track!

  16. Did it not come with super corsa's standard, I was going to put a set of super corsa's in the multi just for the day, if it stayed dry would of been epic!! I'm running metzeler m7rr, pretty awesome tyre, I blame myself for getting off, little bit of greasiness on the track and me still riding like it was bone dry!! To much power, to much lean, not enough tyre haha........

That's pretty awesome that you got a job there now! Do you have to pay still?? Msv are good trackday dudes though, I've done some others and they were diabolical!! I'm going to start saving for a trackbike aswell I can't keep binning my transport!! Lol

  17. PR 4s coped ok at Silverstone, although you dont have corams to contend with, side grip was great and with dtc on 3 it rarely kicked in

  18. Umm, I can't speak on if I have to pay or not. lol

Yeah, the Hyper originally came with with Supercorsa SP's, but I went through the rear on one track day in the states. They only had 1300 street miles and about 90 track miles on them. Then I went to some Dunlop Ntec slicks for my next track day and used them up. Then came the Michelin's before moving here. They only have about 700 miles on them, but they were just crap on the track. So now I know that street tyres are no good for me on the track.

Yeah a Multi can be a pricey bike to keep dropping down the track. It's always good to have a 2nd bike!

  19. Kingfixer nice too meet you too mate!!

Nice to meet you too as well mate, really gutted for you about the multi :(
I never made it out on track at all, by the time I got the brakes fixed it was pissing down and I didn't bring my wets !!!!

  20. Yeah I need a little track bike was thinking desmodue as I can't ride a inline four lol!! Or 748 will do!!
