  1. Ah right...like moisture reader thing....yeah did look them up bout 80  think i'll take sample into garage and get independently tested :Angelic:

  2. Gunson 77002 Brake Fluid Tester

    - Machine Mart

tester works to show percentage of water contamination in the fluid
more water in the fluid lower the boiling point and more compressable ie spongy brakes
got one of the gunson testers from machine mart at work dead easy to use
    only £22

  5. stating the obvious then?

  6. I guess I am. Your question marks confused me, similar to the way Aussies speak, where everything they say has a rising inflection at the end.

  7. or I'm from Suffolk?

  8. Right Guys bit of an update.... as we all know there's no such thing as black racing fluid...but I had to get it confirmed in writing so took it to independent garage who tested the rear fluid and the results showed an amber warning and so proved that the rear brake fluid had not been changed as stated by the "Ducati Dealer" given its current mileage. So one barrel is ready and cocked. As stated previously, engine oil has been sent off for testing and still awaiting results.... if my suspicions are confirmed they can have both barrels ! Named and Shamed! .......to be continued..............

  9. How about if the oil comes back fine just naming? Leave the shaming bit?

  10. I wouldn't bother naming. The admin will get a snotty letter/email, then the thread will disappear.

  11. Are we allowed to guess yet? Shropshire based rider...erm...

  13. I would too if it didn't invalidate the warranty.....

  14. Gotta say it really is a pain to have to go to these lengths just to make sure your bike is looked after properly. If you find out they have lied will you be contacting trading standrds?

  15. Kin numpty is all I can add, unbelievable

  16. Well you could say they lied already on account of the spark plugs and brake fluid or failed grossly in there duties. Whether it was intentional we'll never know but if the results of the oil come back with a match then one might assume more so.
As for informing T.S I'm not sure, far as I can tell they only uphold yours rights to get the matter resolved, giving them the chance to put right what was wrong. Mentions something about having been in breach but I don't know what that leads to.
I would however inform ducati uk rather, which maybe a better option, I'll wait first see what the total findings are and go from there probably put it all in writing along with my findings and send both dealer and ducati uk a copy. That way I'm not getting into heated over telephone and fed anymore bullshit.
Bear in mind that after my initial telephone complaint I was passed over to the mechanic who said about the new brake fluid being black etc, not the owner. I think it only fair that I should inform him, giving him the opportunity to have his say on the matter. But that as I said will be in writing.

  17. Or go to a good independent and ensure that they use Ducati parts then your warranty will be good. This has been in force since 2010 under EU law. European Regulation 461/2010 (Motor Vehicle Block Exemption) L_2010129EN.01005201.xml.

I would certainly put my grievances in writing to the Dealer and allow them to respond first to resolve the matter. Venting your spleen here may feel good, but it may harm your overall case as most good dealers are aware of fora like these and keep an eye on them. Once resolved then it is up to you what you do (without libelous or slanderous statements), however, if you do decide to negotiate a settlement make sure you are aware of the "without prejudice" process just in case you end up having to go to court to recover your costs. Meaning of 'without prejudice' - Dispute Resolution
