I need a pair of very cheap size 12 boots, any make and condition as long as they have some life in them - They will probably only be used a couple of times ferrying a skint mate around on the back of my bike. (I've given him my old draggins, a textile jacket & old helmet & old gloves, but he can't get his massive feet into my more delicate size 9's and I refuse to let him on back without a pair of boots!) drop me a pm if you think you have an old pair in the loft/garage gathering dust.
Pop into Aldi or Lidl. They often have cheap as cheap stuff in there. Its aint fancy, but it may just do the job
Is the Aldi/Lidl stuff regularly in stock, or is it only every now & then they do a bike gear promotion?
To be honest I don't know as I never go in there. :Bag: Gets some interesting write ups in the biking press. Do they have a website?
Some, of the aldi/lidl stuff is very good value, that is all, just good value, some is just tat and should be avoided like the plague. I have a little 1/4" drive socket/allen/screwdriver set that i bought out of lidl's 300 years ago and have had my bikes in pieces and back together countless times over the years - great bit of kit - cost a tenner!
It's not that often - and when it's in, it goes v.quick. I've got cordura kit an a pair of biking jeans - the cordura is totally rain-proof (but does not breathe, so you sweat like a weaty thing). Never crash-tested any of it. The wife has a pair of Lidl boots and a set of cordura kit, but has only been on the bike about twice (888 pillion seats don't get a good review....). Problem is that it's never the same thing twice, so you have to see what it's like that time. It's all loss-leader stuff to get people through the door.
