1200 The Fastest Way From A To B

  1. I have just returned from Aragon where I had a great time with a couple of mates at the MotoGP, thing is they went on Monday last week and I couldn't get time off work so I went Wednesday night with the intention of covering as much ground as possible and probably catching up with them on Friday.

Ferry docks into St Malo at 8.10 Thursday and by 9am I am out of the port, fast froward until 8 pm and I am sat at the campsite at Lake Caspe some 719 miles later. Granted I did motorway all the way and wouldn't choose to do this often but in fact I really enjoyed the ride and felt pretty good at the end.

I have done a couple of 700ish mile days on a 1200GS but even with a Sargent seat I have always struggled with my backside and my wrists but the Multi was brilliant.

Some might criticise my average speed but the roads were quiet and I stayed at around 85-90 in France but did get a bit carried away in Spain on a deserted motorway cruising at just over 100mph for around 200 miles (If I had to guess I would say I saw less than a dozen cars).

If you have not been to Northern Spain on the bike, the roads are obviously designed by someone who rides a bike.

Oh 8,500 miles now and its been totally reliable

  2. The Multi is epic in terms of covering big miles in comfort and safety.

I did 400 miles in an afternoon a few weeks ago running from the Black Forest in Germany to Ypres in Belgium and got off without a single ache or pain.

  3. What upsets me is how many bugs you killed, should be ashamed of yourself! Can't wait to get mine....

  4. Comfort and safety? Why the f*ck would you want that? It is a Ducati ferchrissakes ... If it doesn't fee like it is trying to kill you then there is something seriously wrong!

    ;-)

  5. I've got another one that does that as well.;)

  6. I did the last 200 miles at warp speed, in fact did a tank full in 111 miles so it was trying to kill my credit card, does that count?

  7. That dash picture has been photoshoped; there's no misting or strange winky disco lights going on. Shame on you :Dead:
