Not the biggest engine, but, it's the 220 BlueTEC with the 7 speed auto. 170bhp, 0-60 in 7.4 sec. Quick enough to keep up with most normal cars on the road, and very smooth / quiet for an oil burner.
You wouldn't have believed that sort of performance about 10-15 years ago. I used to screw my face up at diesels but to be honest with that level of performance and fuel economy not to mention low tax why would you want a petrol!?. Nice car by the way!.
110 co2 emissions means £30 per year road tax We pay 4 times that for the GF's 10 year old Ford Focus.
aye but you wont have to pay for a D.P.F or expensive service regime ether. still loves the diesels tho. the jtd's of this world are the proverbial's.
Know what you mean, but, I had the previous shape C, with the 220cdi and same 7 speed auto box. Racked up 96,000 mile in 3 years, apart from normal servicing it had a set of front discs and pads at 64,000 mile, and one set of wiper blades. Front tyres lasted 49,000 mile, back tyres 33,000 mile. Residuals were very good, better than comparable BMW and Audi's.
but TBH mate.. it aint really a " toy ",, is it ?,, ok cred practicle family / everyday transport if you have a big family or like big cars,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I was expecting an Evora an Elise a TT a 911 or the likes......
Must be different to the 220 on in my cla then. Thats noisy, slow and agricultural compared to a 2l beemer. The only auto I have ever known that not only can roll backwards when in gear but also stalls...
Is this the saloon version of the A Class Hatch. Sarah test drove one of those and it a really nice car
Im looking for a new car currently - I keep changing my mind between a 123D, 335D, Cayman or C class big diesel. Its the cayman or an exige I would like but keep getting disapproving looks because its another 2 seater. Wimmin!!!!!!!!
Of the bigger diesels I like the MB V6 diesel the best, but it's nowhere as frugal as the BMW's if frugal os your thing. I'm getting fed up with running a diesel though (previous c class 320 cdi), thinking a BMW straight 6 petrol is on the cards, and with the driving we do I don't think I would give up much on economy either
