Before I fit my TERMIGNONI RACING EXHAUST KIT to my 2013 Pikes Peak I want to have it coated, as it tarnishes as soon as you start the bike. Zircotec - Plasma sprayed ceramic thermal coatings I've found this crowd that want to charge £126+VAT and shipping it's their minimum charge, perhaps someone else wants to bulk the order and share the costs? I'm going to go for the darkest black. Any thoughts.
Try Camcoat in Warrington too. Theyve done mine (70mm 1198 termi) at £163 delivered. Fully coated inside and outside. I too went for black.
Got the Zircotec on mine - metallic black , very good to deal with and good warranty . Dropped mine off as was easier- still looks ok after 15k and 2 1/2 years They didn't do the bike specific one then
Any pictures of the pipes after some use ? I've seen some and they look almost grey rather than black. Cheers.
I'm certain it won't damage it but watch your teeth : ) well worth doing fm experience, a definite long term investment if done properly
Today the decat and front header pipes will be with Camcoat Performance Coatings . Satin black finish for me, front section is Black. Coating inside and out. Cost £30 to ship Next day 1pm insured (£1700) with Royal Mail (3.77Kg parcel). Nearly ever other courier firm wanted double, with the insurance. "After" pics to follow....everyone knows what the standard pipes look like after a couple of thousand miles.
Had my 1198 done. £165 for Racespec in and out with TurboX black finish. They get cool to the touch bloody quickly. Camcoat did a great job and provide a great service.
Ok....it's with them. Camcoat Performance Coatings 129 Hoyle Street Bewsey Industrial Estate Warrington Cheshire WA5 0LP Tel: 01925 445003 Email: [email protected] Since the rest of the underneath is Black I went for the Satin Black finish (inside and out) Like this The finished front header pipe and decat Termis pipe will be ready to be sent on the 13th Nov and cost £116+VAT including return delivery. More pics to follow.
OK. Just paid my £133.20 inc vat, delivery Monday and some photos to follow. I won't have time to fit until the weekend after .
Bugger wanted his SS bolts yesterday and he pains us to wait more than 9 months for pics of his uber sexy coated pipes Pfffffffffffffff
I was thinking of getting my pipes ceramic coted, but reading through "Car" restorers posts on the net, they don't rat ceramic coatings, most wanted it done on there header pipes but said after a few heat cycles it starts to crack and ping off in splinters, that lets the blasted surface underneath rust and then it's not long until it's all coming off. I'm not sure how it would cope on stainless but I know my rear header was glowing a deep red last time I got home from a night ride so I know it gets very hot.
